It’s always good to see boutique companies that are doing well. With that said, I’m glad to share some industry news from spa and wellness marketing veteran, Nancy Griffin, principal of Contento Marketing Group. Insider’s has just learned that Griffin has appointed Laurie MacMillan as Creative Director.
With the addition of MacMillan, Contento adds to their public relation and business development focus with a full suite of creative services, including website and social media platform development, art direction, graphic design, and visual branding.
“Since I was referring most of my clients to Laurie with excellent results, it was a natural progression for her to join the team,” says Griffin. “With a career in spa and hospitality industry marketing communications spanning more than thirty years, Laurie will elevate and expand Contento’s services to offer a complete 360 degree solution to our clients.”
Her design work is driven by color harmony, evocative photography, and elegant typography . . . she has a deep understanding of the restorative nature of spa.
Macmillan’s career in graphic design, marketing and advertising began at McGraw-Hill’s BYTE magazine, then operating her own firm working for Fortune 500 Companies like AT&T and academic institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT.) After relocating from New England to California, she became Director of Marketing Communications for SpaEquip (now a division of Universal Companies.)
During her eight-year tenure with SpaEquip, MacMillan did creative work for many spa equipment manufacturers and skincare product lines, including Living Earth Crafts, TouchAmerica, EarthLite, Sodashi, VOYA, Dr.’s Remedy, and others. Her design work is driven by color harmony, evocative photography, elegant typography, and an experienced instinct for reaching the target audience visually. She has a deep understanding of the restorative nature of spa.
Laurie commented about the partnership, “I’m so grateful for the good fortune to have met Nancy! I began working with her immediately on branding and design for some of her clients, and learned that we make a great team with perfectly complementary skills. I look forward to helping both new and established spa businesses grow and reach their goals.”
