Mexico has always been at the top of my list as a spa destination, so I was especially pleased to receive this bit of news this morning from Paul Schmidt, executive director of the Green Spa Network (GSN).
Say hello to the newly formed Green Spa Network Mexico! This new associated chapter will function as a non-profit organization focused on supporting and enhancing the industry of spa and wellness throughout Mexico. With the mission of providing the Mexican spa and wellness industry with professional, sustainable, and holistic best practices, the association will focus on streamlining international standards within a regional and cultural reference. The association will also support the integration of the Mexican spa industry on a global scale.
Founding members include Bonnie Baker and Alondra Saldarriaga of Satteva Spa and Wellness Concepts, Sara Jones of Spa Professional Mexico, Sharon Sedgwick of Sedgwick Consulting, Viviana Quesada of Four Seasons Punta Mita, Emmanuel Arroya of Rosewood Mayakoba, and Leticia Calvo of Excellence Resorts.
Says Schmidt, “The Green Spa Network has important roots in Mexico, so it is a natural place to evolve our support for sustainability. It is an honor to have the chance to partner with the outstanding individuals making this important organization possible.”
