The spa world is full of beautiful products that I test and sample on a regular basis. Here are a few of my favorite spa beauty launches from 2018.
Botany Beauty Cleansing Polish: New from Malie Organics, this facial scrub is the gentlest I’ve ever experienced (it owes its polishing power to the addition of ground olive seeds and ground cranberry seeds). Its plant-based ingredients include pineapple and papaya extracts, and the polish leaves skin feeling soft and clean. botany beauty
Cerulean Soothing Hydrating Recovery Mask: I’ve come to believe there’s a little bit of magic infused in each of Kypris’s products. This wonderfully gooey mask is a recent example. It’s powerful stuff and may be applied as a typical mask and left on for 20 minutes to work its wondrous glory—or used as an overnight hydrating treatment with a serum or moisturizer atop. I was instructed to try the latter by founder Chase Polan, and I awoke to soft, happy skin that I could swear had a certain twinkle to it. kyprisbeauty
Super Nutrient Balm: I love everything about this balm from Anda, the new skincare line that was the passion project of the late and dearly missed Charlene Florian. “Anda” is Swedish for breath, and I love the feel, the fragrance, and how this balm absorbs into my skin without any greasy residue. It’s my hero helper for those times when my skin needs some extra TLC. I use it on my face, but it’s great for cuticles and rough feet, as well. Nourishing ingredients include buriti and carrot seed. kerstinflorian
Kombucha Bio-Cellulose Mask: I thought I had reached the point where if I never had to sample another sheet mask I’d be happy—until I opened and applied this new one from Naturopathica. After carefully unfolding and removing the outer layer, I slowly placed it on my face—and my skin felt better pretty immediately. It may sound strange, but it felt as though my face was waking up—super-refreshing and cooling. The detoxifying and nourishing qualities of the mask come from kombucha and black currant seed oil serum. Naturopathica
Celestial Activating Essence: Arcona debuted this brightening hydrating mist this past September (and yes, it does include rose hydrosol). Cold-processed in small batches, the Essence is formulated to brighten complexions, and it does just that. I like to use this last in my morning skincare routine, as it leaves my skin looking nice and dewy. arcona
Redensifying Lip Complex & Conditioning Lip Polish: It’s true that lip polishes are all the rage right now, but this one from Sanitas Skincare really stands out from the pack. The vitamin E-infused polish is easy to apply and doesn’t make a mess, and it buffs the delicate lip area nicely and gently. Follow that with the Redensifying Lip Complex that’s full of hyaluronic acid and omega fatty acids, and your lips will thank you for it. sanitas
Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipstick: Spa beauty icon Jane Iredale’s recent lipstick launch is a welcome addition if you’re like I am, and prefer a neutral, nourishing lipstick. The natural collection offers 15 creamy moist shades, with plenty of nice neutral options like “Molly,” a soft peach nude and “Tricia,” a neutral nude. janeiredale
Pearls of Wisdom Power of Rose Travel Collection: Aromatherapy Associates partnered with British fashion designer, Maria Grachvogel, who created exclusive and ethereal hand-drawn designs for the brand’s Pearls of Wisdom Holiday Gifting program. The gorgeous designs—featured on gift set boxes, as well as a travel pouch (The Power of Rose Travel Collection) and tote bag—are an ode to nature’s power, at once delicate and profound. The handcrafted blend of rose petals is a scent I can’t resist, and the travel collection features three favorites: Renewing Rose Body Wash; Renewing Rose Hydrating Body Gel; and Renewing Rose Body Cream. aromatherapyassociates
