Originally built in the 1800s, The Gainsborough Spa Bath occupies two Grade II Listed buildings with distinguished Georgian and Victorian façades in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Bath. Named after the artist Sir Thomas Gainsborough, the hotel is centered around a unique Spa Village which has privileged access to Bath’s mineral-rich, natural thermal waters. As a Leading Hotel of the World, The Gainsborough Spa Bath is YTL’s first Hotel in the United Kingdom. Paying homage to its colorful history, the hotel is designed by New York based Champalimaud Design to be welcoming, elegant, vibrant, and social.
Tapping into the original Roman Bath springs, Spa Village Bath offers a contemporary perspective on the city’s thermal water heritage. Coupled with the historic use of aromatherapy in Great Britain, this spa, within the Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel, gently supports the brand’s philosophy of honoring the healing traditions of the region. The Malaysian bred spa group also shares the gift of select signature therapies of the original Spa Village spas–The Malaysian Experience, Malay Massage, and Campur-Campur which combines the best techniques of Malay and Thai massage.
The Gainsborough Spa Bath guests who desire a more immersive spa experience can stay in one of the two Spa Village guest rooms or the restorative Spa Suite. All three rooms are located directly above the spa for the ultimate ease of access and include baths that fill with the natural thermal waters.
