Until travel resumes, the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is coming to you! Spa Director Lina Morales is sharing some DIY beauty tips that will recreate the Oasis Spa experience in the comfort of your home. Rooted in the healing energy of the desert, mountains, and sea, Oasis Spa utilizes the many natural ingredients plentiful in Baja for the ultimate in mind, body, and spirit renewal.
“When it is time to stay home, it is the perfect time to take care of ourselves,” says Morales. “We can use self-care as a mode of transportation to our most beloved, calm, and happy places.” Here, she shares some of her favorites that are easy to recreate using common household goods and pantry items.
Oatmeal and Honey Mask
This moisturizing mask uses coconut milk, honey, and oatmeal. Mix ¼ cup of coconut milk, with two teaspoons of honey and two teaspoons of oatmeal. Once it has a paste-like texture, apply to your face using circular movements, always upwards. Leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes, and remove with warm water. This will leave your skin smooth, soft, and moisturized.

Rose Water Toner
Refreshing, cooling, and soothing, this toner is suitable for all skin types and can be used daily. Place rose petals from one rose (2 tablespoons of dried rose petals or dried chamomile may be substituted) in a teapot. Pour boiling water over the rose petals, cover tea pot with lid, and let the tea infuse and fully cool for 1 to 2 hours.
Strain the tea and transfer rose water to a spray bottle. Apply at night after cleansing by soaking a cotton pad with rose-water toner. Apply in upwards strokes on face and neck to revive tired skin. This may also be used as an after-shower body mist, after-shave or hair mist (spray lightly on the ends of dry hair). Store the toner spray bottle in the refrigerator and use for up to one week.
Honey and Coffee Body Scrub
For a full body wake-up call, mix ½ cup honey, 4 teaspoons coffee, and two teaspoons of brown sugar or sea salt. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open pores. Using circular motions with your hands, always moving upwards, rub the scrub into your skin with medium pressure. Rinse, dry off, and apply your favorite body lotion.
Shower Mist
Upgrade your shower with this aromatherapy shower spray. This oil blend helps to boost mood, decrease stress, and soothe the respiratory system. In a spray bottle, mix 15 drops of eucalyptus and 5 drops of peppermint with 200 ml of water. Once your shower is hot, spray the mist in every corner to create a steam effect. Take long, deep breaths, and enjoy your relaxing shower.
