Who doesn’t love a good glow? Here are six of my favorite radiance-inducing products from matte bronzers to shimmer sticks to tinted creams—perfect picks for the beauty minimalist who prefers the “no-makeup look.”
Kjaer Weis Cream Bronzer
I love pretty much everything about Kjaer Weis—from its gorgeous formulations rich in certified organic ingredients, to its chic sustainable packaging—and I wish spas would carry it! The Cream Bronzers, available in four luminous shades from light to deep, contain a variety of nourishing cold-pressed oils like castor, olive, and rosehip, as well as vitamin E and vanilla. Easy to apply and to blend, the bronzer goes on smoothly, leaving a subtle sun-kissed glow. kjaerweis.com
Sonage Roux Tinted Day Crème with SPF 30
This fab Roux Tinted Day Creme launched last year, and there’s a very good reason why it’s one of Sonage’s best-sellers. It’s part primer, moisturizer, and mineral SPF all in one lightweight and hydrating product. It’s also EWG Verified and compliant with Hawaii Reef Act 104. I love the sheer tint and the subtle glow it gives upon application. Its silky formula includes non-nano zinc oxide, ceramides, tucuma butter (a natural, cold-pressed butter that comes from the seeds of the Astrocaryum tucama tree, native to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest), and squalane. sonage.com
Nelly DeVuyst BioSolar Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30
I was introduced to this light tinted cream at this year’s ISPA Conference in Phoenix. It’s a hardworking sunscreen that was formulated especially for sun-damaged skin and uneven complexions, and it gives a nice smoothing effect, thanks to its light-reflecting pigments. Formulated to help hide imperfections while boosting collagen, BioSolar Tinted Sunscreen is Ecocert certified, and comes in three shades. nellydevuyst.com
Antedotum Essential Daily Sunscreen SPF 30
Antedotum is another ISPA find. The brand’s colorful and unique designs really stood out on the expo floor. The first product I tried was the Essential Daily Sunscreen, and I continue to use it to this day. If you’re a beauty minimalist like I am, you’ll appreciate this hydrating tinted sunscreen that goes on smoothly and evenly. Its hero ingredient is Aspen bark complex, included for its skin-soothing and protecting qualities. Reef-safe, this tinted sunscreen also offers blue light protection, and the natural glow it gives is a bonus. Special shout-out to this beauty brand for its sustainability efforts. Antedotum produces 92 percent of its products with eco-friendly materials like sugar cane tubes, glass jars, and PCR secondary packaging. antedotumbeauty.com
Clove + Hallow Glow Stick Illuminator
This makeup brand exhibited in my Discover Green section at Cosmoprof North America a few years ago, which is where I discovered this great little illuminator. I carry this cream highlighter stick wherever I go and love its handy size. But most of all, I love the way it glides on effortlessly and leaves my skin with a nice, just-right dewy look. Available in two shades: Glass Slipper, an opalescent nude and Cleo, a golden pearl. cloverbyclove.com
Jane Iredale Bronzers
Jane Iredale has a bronzer for every beauty type, from matte powders to shimmery powders to creamy sticks. The PureBronze Matte Bronzer is simply one of the best matte powder bronzers on the market. This no-shimmer powder, available in three shades, is best applied with a fan brush for easy contouring and leaves a nice natural finish. Those who want more of a radiant glow should go with the PureBronze Shimmer Bronzer. Available in four pretty palettes, the Shimmer Bronzer features four multitasking complementary shades that you can also use as a highlighter, blush, or eyeshadow. The newest addition is the buildable Glow Time Bronzer Stick. It doesn’t contain shimmer, but it does leave your skin with a nice soft radiant glow. janeiredale.com
