Located on the top floor of the Terra Hotel, Chill Spa is a gem of a space in the middle of the bustling ski resort of Teton Village, just outside Jackson Hole. I was surprised when I stepped off the hotel elevator directly into the tiny spa reception area; but they’ve managed to maximize that small space. The Blend “Bar” is not really a bar (a la at some larger spas) but rather lives on a diminutive cart at reception— guests may customize a scrub (salt or sugar) or body cream with any of 12 scents for the relatively reasonable cost of $30 for a 6-ounce jar. You may also make a sample to use on site before deciding—a nice option that would be made better if the sample container (looks like the take-out containers for salad dressing) had a lid. It did not.

From this lobby area guests may also access the hot tub. While a roof top hot tub is a great amenity, having to walk through the entire spa, in a robe or a swimsuit to access said hot tub is a design fail in my opinion. Another design fail here is the women’s locker room—very cramped locker area, which is not unusual for a spa this size, but then an unnecessarily large steam room (and good luck finding the switch to turn it on—a problem at almost every spa in Teton Village). Had that room been smaller, they could’ve added another shower. There’s only one here, which wasn’t a problem when I visited, but would be an issue if it there were many guests whose treatments ended at the same time.
Despite these issues I found the overall experience at Chill lovely. I was given a heated neck pillow to wear while I waited pre-treatment by the fireplace in the relaxation room, which had a great view of the mountains. Post-treatment, I was presented with a piece of locally made dark chocolate, and a too-sweet-for-me (but others loved) Blueberry and White tea made with drops from Pure Inventions. I’d never seen this before but loved the idea of traveling with a TSA-size bottle of tea drops versus tea bags—less mess and easier all around.

Other things worth noting: the store here has a nice selection of Eminence Organics and other, mostly natural, beauty products. The clothing and jewelry sold here is thoughtfully chosen and well priced.
Bonus: Valet parking is free for spa guests—which is good since the parking lots in the village are known to fill quickly.
