We’re about to embark on a long day of airport travel, and wish that one of the three airports we’re about to find ourselves in had a Terminal Getaway Spa.
With five locations in Chicago O’Hare, Charlotte Douglas, and Orlando International Airport, Terminal Getaway Spa is aiming to be the premier airport relaxation station. The brand is revolutionizing airport spas and improving the travel experience by offering private treatment rooms, on-trend services, mainstay hospitality, and trained licensed technicians.
Treatments include: the Last Minute manicure ($25) in 20 minutes flat, or a Time on Your Hands deluxe version ($45) for 35 minutes. Guests may also opt for the massage chair for a speedy 10-minute rubdown ($19) or head to a private treatment room for a 90-minute Bod Voyage deep tissue massage ($195).
“I identified the need for an upscale experience in U.S. airports as travel delays and early check-ins were on the rise. So I decided to bring a five-star spa experience into an airport environment.”
The rapidly growing airport spa brand is the brainchild of Chicago-based entrepreneur Marko Iglendza who geared the spas toward travelers who are in a hurry—or not—with treatments ranging from 10 to 90 minutes.
“I identified the need for an upscale experience in U.S. airports as travel delays and early check-ins were on the rise. So I decided to bring a five-star spa experience into an airport environment,” explains Iglendza. “The authentic spa-like atmosphere transforms guests from the hustle and bustle of the airport to a serene setting with the use of subdued colors and lighting that induce relaxation.”
Chicago-based firm James Thomas, is responsible for the welcoming (and functional) décor that is a combination of modern artwork and accents, while the floor plans were conceptualized by Michele Pelafas, a leading design firm in the spa, beauty, and medical spa industry.
