Wellness for Cancer charity announces the establishment of the “Give Back to Our Own” program; a fund designed exclusively to send spa and wellness professionals living with cancer to retreats in order to reconnect and heal. As an inaugural fundraising partner, #SpasPushingLimits, a group of enthusiastic and highly motivated spa professionals who want to challenge themselves by competing in fitness events while raising money for charitable causes, has named Wellness for Cancer as its 2018 cause.
Wellness for Cancer’s “Give Back to Our Own” program has been established with the sole purpose of gifting experiences and retreats to spa and wellness professionals who are also living with cancer. Funds raised to benefit the program will ultimately be used to finance the travel needs and related logistics associated with matching affected spa professionals with spa retreats.
Wellness for Cancer’s “Give Back to Our Own” program has been established with the sole purpose of gifting experiences and retreats to spa and wellness professionals who are also living with cancer.
“Our mission at Wellness for Cancer has always been to empower spa and wellness professionals around the globe to better care for clients and guests touched by cancer without focusing exclusively on cancer,” said Julie Bach, Executive Director. “Today, with the establishment of the ‘Give Back to Our Own’ Program, and our inaugural partnership with #SpasPushingLimits, we are fulfilling the dream to gift spa and wellness professionals touched by cancer with the same kind of love and nurturing treatments that they are used to providing others every day.”
Since gaining global recognition as a beacon for cancer awareness and training within the spa and wellness industry, Bach answers many emails from therapists who are either going through cancer treatment themselves or assisting loved ones undergoing treatment. This became the impetus for the “Giving Back to Our Own” program which must now raise funds, identify properties willing to host retreats, and then finance the travel needs of selected professionals to spas where they themselves may reconnect and heal.
“We are thrilled to partner with Wellness for Cancer to positively impact the lives of those who treat so many, to ultimately better treat themselves,” said Monica Helmstetter, founder of #SpasPushingLimits. “Together, we will raise funds and look forward to competing in their honor.”
Spa and wellness leader, Mia Kyricos, President & Founder of Kyricos & Associates, LLC and strategic advisor to Wellness for Cancer since the charity’s inception, has also donated her time to help Helmstetter and Bach establish and promote the inaugural “Give Back to Our Own” program.
