American Spa magazine is launching its first Women in Wellness Leadership Conference, which will take place March 6, 2018, in New York City. This thoughtfully curated day-long experience is designed to help female leaders and aspiring leaders in the wellness space develop their professional and personal goals while networking with their peers. The idea for this conference has been germinating in the mind of American Spa’s editor-in-chief and publisher Julie Keller Callaghan for a few years and came to fruition following the spectacular response from the magazine’s first-ever Women in Wellness Awards, which were announced in March and garnered more than 400 nominations across the five award categories. (The winners will be announced on www.americanspa.com the week of September 18.)
“For years, I have been inspired by the women in this industry and have been blessed to have befriended so many who juggle powerful careers with equally important personal lives,” says Keller Callaghan. “As I have grown in my career while expanding my family, I have used so many of them as sounding boards and mentors, and I realized that creating a conference to try to do the same for others is both invaluable and necessary. Seeing how our awards resonated with the industry reinforced the idea that American Spa was in a unique position to create an event that could help us all share strategies for success while addressing issues that could help us grow in both our careers and as women.”
